If I have a criticism of this at all is 1. The translation from Serbian to English needs to be re-done for it to be comprehensible to English speakers 2. It is hard to know who the target audience is. I have watched the presentation of "White Rabbits" on YouTube and the the whole concept seems to work well as a theatrical or installation project. Designed in the form of a deck of cards we are introduced to characters such as Mlle. XY with all of the literary symbolism this implies. The meaning behind the story relies very much on allusions to other writers such as Louis Carroll in the form of the White Rabbits and knowledge of the work of Antoine de Saint Exupéry which mentioned in the text. I don't think this story is for children unless you make sometimes the correct assumption that imaginative children do not require linear narrative or logic when it comes to story telling or listening. From this point of view it reminds me of the highly successful " Lionboy" books. I would recommend this book and because of the beautiful illustrations I have given it a high rating as the story is as much a visual experience as well as a literary one.
